Meet Michael Backhus:
Michael has over 20 years experience in the real estate industry. Just out of college in the mid 1980’s, he returned to his roots in the Santa Clara Valley and began a mortgage banking career. After working as a loan officer, he was promoted to regional sales manager in the residential loan department for Union Bank. After the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, Michael decided to leave his much beloved Town of Los Gatos and transferred to the Roseville/Granite Bay area of Placer County. In 1993, he obtained his Real Estate License and became a mortgage broker. Then in 1995, after spending many weekends in North Lake Tahoe and developing business relationships there, Michael decided to move to Tahoe City where he lived and worked for almost 10 years. Seeking a more moderate climate and diversified lifestyle, Michael moved to Napa in 2005 and decided to become a REALTOR®. Michael believes his combined mortgage lending and real estate experience provides his clients with a valuable advantage. His mission is to serve his clients with the utmost integrity, honesty, and accountability. Michael believes that excellent communication and reliable customer service are essential skills for working with both buyers and sellers. In addition to his passion for real estate, Michael also enjoys cycling, golf, skiing, hiking, and exploring Wine Country. Michael also volunteers for various community service and charitable organizations.
